If that is the case, have the strap replaced. Place the sensor on a different strap to see if it works better. If you find the monitor consistently goes in and out or the heart rate is completely wrong, the strap may be defective.You may also want to purchase electrode gel on Amazon. Wet the pads on the strap to improve connectivity especially if they are not warmed up.It should be placed directly on the skin, under the bra strap and near the sternum. Confirm the monitor is being worn correctly.Put the monitor back on within 15 seconds before the monitor goes back asleep. If the monitor is properly connected to a user's profile, the heart rate will display a triple dash on the screen briefly before displaying the heart rate numbers. Take the computer off the strap and rub the metal prongs on the back to wake it up. This can even occur if the monitor is being worn, but the person is not warmed up. The Wahoo TICKR and many other chest monitors will go to sleep within 15 seconds if no heart rate is detected. ![]()
